We are excited to welcome Karly Zouppas to our art studio family! Karly is a multi-disciplinary artist whose creative journey includes painting, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, digital art, and even taxidermy. Her diverse background and passion for the arts bring a fresh spark of inspiration to our community.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and having lived across Canada from Ontario to British Columbia, Karly’s artistic perspective has been shaped by the many landscapes and cultural experiences she has encountered along the way. Originally studying anthropology and archaeology, she developed a deep love for history, material culture, and the human connection to creativity. Later, her path led her back to visual arts, where she fully embraced her identity as a professional artist, creating, exhibiting, and sharing her work with others.
Karly’s approach to teaching is warm, inclusive, and full of curiosity. She believes that art is for everyone, and that the process of creating can spark joy, confidence, and self-discovery at any age. Whether you’re just starting or looking to explore something new, Karly’s classes are designed to inspire and encourage.
New Workshops with Karly (Ages 16+)
This season, Karly will be teaching two brand-new workshops for teens (16+) and adults:
🦋 Butterfly Pinning
Step into the world where science and art meet! In this workshop, you’ll learn the fascinating process of preserving butterflies and displaying them in beautiful arrangements. It’s a hands-on class that blends curiosity, care, and creativity—resulting in a finished piece that is both educational and stunning to look at.
💧 Wet Felting
Get ready for a tactile, playful, and slightly messy adventure! Wet felting uses warm water, soap, and wool fibers to create vibrant, textured felt. Watching loose fibers transform into something solid and beautiful feels a little like magic. This workshop is perfect for anyone who loves experimenting with materials and wants to walk away with something colorful and unique.

These workshops are open to ages 16 and up—perfect for older teens, adults, and anyone who’s ready to try something new and inspiring. Karly’s teaching style makes these classes approachable, fun, and rewarding, no matter your level of experience.
