Two months into the first semester and the academy is going fantastically! I am excited to start working on our magazines and personal projects after the Christmas break and have made huge progress in my art studies so far. I have not only refreshed my photography and editing skills but learned even more on what makes up a great photo! When starting our collage and assemblage project I realized a big part about this style of art needs to include a theme or underlining message to help people appreciate/understand my art piece. I took a risk at what I wasn't sure on and my project and teacher taught me a big lesson that depth and meaning is important. I am sure that I will be experimenting more with messages through my art from now on. I have been working on multiple mediums this fall including, perspective drawings, still life, portraits and collages! I realize my portraits and people drawing skills are not as improved as I'd like them to be and I will be working on them in my own time. I have found a love for creating assemblages and collages, it doesn't feel like an art piece or a project its like a fun puzzle I have to put together! Continuing with my art studies I will of course ask my family for their support and my teachers for their critics and opinions to further my better understanding of art mediums!
